Stone & brick repair in Calgary
Loose cultured stone, crumbling mortar, cracked brick and missing flashings, repaired by a tradesman who does stucco, stone and brick. That matters, because most masonry problems happen where they meet.
Why stone and brick come loose in Calgary
Manufactured (cultured) stone veneer is on thousands of Calgary homes, usually around entries, columns and foundation skirts. It's only as good as the installation behind it. When it's missing a weep screed, installed tight to the grade, or has no flashing where it meets stucco or a roofline, water gets behind it, freezes, and pops stones and mortar off the wall.
Brick has its own issues: mortar joints wear out, freeze-thaw cycles spall brick faces, and missing or buried flashings at windows, soffits and lintels let water into the wall. Tuckpointing only solves mortar erosion; if water is getting in above, it has to be fixed first.
Because we also do stucco and flashing work, we fix the transition details (stone to stucco, brick to soffit, veneer to grade) that most masonry-only or stucco-only contractors leave alone.

Resetting a few loose stones is a small job; rebuilding a full stone skirt or repointing a whole brick wall is a much larger one. Access, matching materials, and whether flashings need to be added all affect the price.

Stone & Brick Repair questions
Can you match my existing stone?
We match cultured stone profiles and colours as closely as possible, often using stones salvaged from less-visible areas. Mortar colour is matched too.
Why does cultured stone fall off?
Almost always water. Missing weep screeds, stone installed tight to grade or decks, and missing flashings let water in behind the veneer, where freeze-thaw pushes it off.
What's tuckpointing?
Grinding out worn mortar joints and filling them with fresh mortar. It restores the wall's weather protection and appearance when the bricks themselves are sound.
Do you repair brick soffit and flashing problems?
Yes. Missing reverse flashing, exposed building wrap and water getting in at brick-to-soffit transitions are common problems we fix.
How much does stone repair cost in Calgary?
It depends on how many stones are affected, matching, access and whether flashing work is needed. We give a free flat-rate quote after seeing it.
